I have always been on a spiritual journey of one kind or another. I began in childhood when it was unpopular and made you an outcast, so I hid it. I hid it from my family and friends, the few that I had. Sometimes I even hid it from myself. But whatever “it” was, would not allow that. Something otherworldly would always happen to make me question life, death or my sanity. I spent much of my younger years thinking that I was so different that I didn’t belong here. It effected my value and sense of self. There were times that I didn’t feel human.
I have always had experiences with the spirit world. It was never predictable or controlled. There have been times when I felt I was going mad as every minute of every day I was seeing or hearing something no one else could.
I found myself in my fifties, newly single, and starting over. I felt the need to explore my spiritual side and to be open about it. I wanted to start with meditation. That is when I bumped into an old friend Robert. Robert and I have known each other since the 1980s. We would occasionally see one another at the store for a five minute ‘how are you’ conversation. We were never at the same place in life at the same time. And as the universe works, he said he had just begun a meditation group and asked if I would like to join.
So began my journey of understanding and discovery.
